Business Intelligence Analyst

Key Responsibilities

Reporting through to the Data Analytics and Reporting Lead, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Build and maintain interactive reports and dashboards that deliver actionable insights.
• Write SQL queries to extract, transform, and model data from multiple sources.
• Develop and optimise data models for performance and usability.
• Collaborate with business teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Present insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support and train end users to promote data literacy and self-service analytics.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across reporting outputs.
• Document data definitions, lineage, and reporting methodologies.
• Continuously improve reporting processes and stay up to date with BI tools and trends.
• Contribute to the growth of the organisation’s analytics capability and data strategy.

About You

• Minimum three years of experience in business intelligence or analytics roles within financial services or asset finance.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in finance or a STEM-related field.
• Advanced SQL capability, including writing, optimising, and troubleshooting complex queries.
• Strong Power BI skills across data modelling, DAX, visualisation, and report design.
• High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to operate in complex or unfamiliar business environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, supported by curiosity, resilience, and a growth mindset.
• An understanding of data warehouse concepts and ETL/orchestration tools (e.g. Fabric, Azure Data Factory) and/or exposure to Python or R.
